Lillyfee Recycling and Ecology Image
Lillyfee Re-cycling

The output of Lillyfee is REAL. We do not produce "Cream Puffs" that look like objects of quality, from which the illusion quickly fades, but exciting "Artistic Creations", which truly are worthy of the materials used.

We produce no waste product and even the sanding dust and wood shavings are directly recycled into heat throughout cold winter months.

We try to use local woods and timber from sustainable forests as often as possible, and truly value the world and the beauty it contains.

I am very interested in ecology and the intelligent and careful use of rare materials. I hate waste. All our waste timber shavings and sawdust are recycled to heat the studio throughout the winter months, excepting that which we deliver to Neil, our local farmer, for animal litter and bedding.

I recently went to Barbados with a team of volunteers to renovate and adapt an old plantation house at Edge Hill into an Ecology and Conservation Centre. I am particularly interested in Flora, Fauna and the preservation of the wild places on Earth. We always try to obtain our timbers from plantation grown stocks rather than virgin forest and we delight in using local wind-blown timber whenever it becomes available, which we have converted and seasoned ourselves. At present we have stocks of burr oak, walnut, limewood and a limited amount of acacia which has been obtained in this way.
